TAMPA — Tampa Catholic boys basketball coach Don Dziagwa has coached 864 career games. Of those, one was for a state championship. It happened in 1995, when his Tampa Catholic team defeated Boca Raton’s St. Andrews, 69-67, for the program’s first and only state title. Dziagwa understands all too well the difficulty of winning a state championship. During his three decades as head coach at Tampa Catholic, the Crusaders have been to the state final four on four occasions. It takes skill, chemistry, faith and a bit of luck, Dziagwa said.
